When you configure a new Blogger, you can choose from sixteen different models by default, most of which have more than a variation of theme you can select. When I started blogging, I often tried two or three of the default templates before I settled on one that match the theme of my site is fine. You can use one of the following methods to modify your existing template.

The choice of a new default template Blogger

After setting up your blog, you can decide that you do not like the model so much, or you might just want to give it a fresh look. There are a few ways you can modify your template. The easiest way is to switch to one of the other default template provided by Blogger. You can switch templates by going to Layout -> Choose a new template from your account into Blogger Dashboard. You can choose a new template as easily as you select your original. All information (messages, photos and videos) that you have already placed on your blog will be retained. When you change your model by choosing a new model pick, the system is smart enough Blogger to preserve the gadgets that you currently put in place. For example, if you added a few gadgets using the Add a Gadget on the layout -> Items Page page, these gadgets will remain in your new design template. What you find in the template file are definitions of variables, some definitions CSS style, and finally the body of the blog page, which contains a bunch of XML tags that looks like this:

In order to properly modify the model beyond just change fonts and colors in the definition section of variables, you'll need to know (or be willing to learn) certain things about CSS and layout XML Blogger. It will probably take a few studies of the existing XML configuration and experience to make the improvements you want. As you make changes, you can keep a backup copy of your last working model so that you do not return to work from the model of the original file if you mess something up.

Installing third Blogger Template

The third way to change theme of your blog is to download and install a Blogger template created by a designer. There are many free Blogger templates available for download on the net.

To install third Blogger template, save the template XML file to your computer. Then, From the Layout -> Edit HTML page, click Browse … model and find the file on your computer. Then click Open to return to the Edit HTML. Click Upload to upload the new model.

Something to keep in mind if you use a blog third model is that gadgets If you add to your blog (for example, faithful, Poll, labels, etc.), you must be careful when using third model to avoid the removal of these gadgets. If you download and install a model that does not support your own gadget, it will be removed when the new model recorded.

If your new model have discrepancies gadget, you will receive the message when you click the Upload button.

Widgets are about to be deleted

Please confirm that the following widgets should be deleted. All configuration data of widgets will be lost.

The warning message will then be the list of gadgets that will be removed if you do Download the new model.
